You only need to drive around Britain to understand the tragedy of the First World War, ‘The Great War’. It seems that every little town and community has a memorial to the young men who went off to war and never returned. But what happens, some ninety years later, when these memorials begin crumble or rot away?

We have been a little remiss over the last couple of months - and have not mentioned the fact that we have been slowly, but surely adding new titles to our selection of available ebooks. We now have over 40 ebooks available (and are hoping to more than double that figure by the end of the year).

As anyone who reads the blog may have realized - over the last couple of weeks blog custodian Joe has been conspicuous by his absence. That is because he is off swanning around the world (or at least he has returned to the motherland and is trekking around the US and visiting his family etc). He rather foolishly flipped me a 'Mike can you look after the blog for me' as he walked out of the office

A couple of years ago Tim Spalding, the founder and CEO of a very cool website called Librarything.com, spoke at an event that I was lucky enough to attend. During his presentation, Tim happened to mention that Osprey is one of his favorite publishers. Today...

Amidst great excitement, the Weapon books arrived in our office today, and we can finally get our hands on them and see our hard work come to life. It is always a great occasion when new books arrive in the office, and when the new books are a first look at a new series it always seems much much more exciting.

As some of you will have noticed, we have a new artist in the Osprey fold – Johnny Shumate.
Johnny is a freelance illustrator from Nashville, Tennessee, and has been working in this field since 1987. He renders the majority of his work digitally, and has featured prominently and often in Ancient Warfare magazine.

As the anticipation builds towards the launch of our new series I finally got the chance to sit down and scroll through some of the books (sadly only on a computer screen - the first two books are on a boat at the moment). I felt a little out of touch scrolling through the pages. The last time I had a proper look at the insides of these pages was a few months ago. when the scripts were all still in a very rough state, partially corrected, without all of the correct images, and still awaiting our signature artwork.
